The expedition’s scientific program has seven main areas: human adaptation to the Arctic, studies of historical and cultural heritage objects, pollution research, studies of Arctic microorganisms, observations of seabirds and mammals, studies of biological resources and biodiversity, and hydrometeorological monitoring.
